About

The Advancement team leads the engagement and philanthropic strategy for the School of Public Health (SPH)’s alumni, donors, and friends, ensuring they have meaningful interactions that foster long-term engagement and investment in our mission. Through alumni relations and fundraising, we work to strengthen connections and inspire philanthropic support. Serving all academic programs, divisions, approximately 22 centers, and 130 faculty members, our strategy takes a comprehensive, school-wide perspective to drive impact and advance public health.

Vision

We will support the SPH’s mission through strategic fundraising and vibrant alumni connections with the goal of creating lasting change and fostering a future where everyone has the opportunity to achieve optimal health.

Mission

Advance SPH by creating strategic engagement opportunities that inspire meaningful connection and cultivate a culture of giving and school pride among alumni, donors, and friends.

Values

  • We believe health is a human right and take pride that our work is connected to advancing research, education, and individuals in public health.
  • We value and center everything we do around alumni, donors, students, and members of the SPH community.
  • We strive to be collaborative and serve as leaders in philanthropy and alumni relations at the SPH.
  • We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion by taking an active role in fighting racism and being antiracist. We build inclusive programming and events that serve all members of the SPH Community.

Goals

Strategic Plan for Antiracism

Align advancement team goals and intended outcomes with SPH’s Strategic Plan for Antiracism, and be seen university-wide as a leader in antiracism in the advancement space.

Focus Alumni and Donor Engagement

Develop a comprehensive alumni and donor engagement plan for the year to build school pride and lead to increased involvement of time and resources.

Increase Year-Over-Year Gift Production

Continue to Streamline Team Infrastructure
