The Office of Research (OoR) manages initiatives to promote research grant proposal development including comprehensive grant submission support with a new program in FY23 called “SWEEP” Scientific Writing, Editing, External Review, and Production (graphics design). The SWEEP Program supports the grant proposal development process with specific technical services to ensure and enhance the highest quality narrative and visual appeal of the proposal.
The SWEEP Program provides coordination and payment for SWEEP services to all SPH faculty researchers who are submitting external grant proposals as the primary investigator.
The OoR has a finite number of resources during FY23 to support the program. This, and the grant development timeline, will impact the number of faculty we can accommodate in any one week depending on the number and types of services one would like to use.
Interested participants will be asked to complete the SWEEP intake form prior to receiving services to provide details about which services will be needed, and for the OoR staff to determine eligibility to participate and manage the flow of services. OoR staff will respond to the intake request within 2-3 days to communicate status of the requested components and discuss timeline. Note that the Office of Research reserves the right to prioritize a junior faculty or resubmission and/or large grant such as a Center or U grant ahead of other proposal support requests.
SWEEP grant writing support for Spring 2024
The SPH Office of Research’s SWEEP program is initiating monthly Grant Club and Mini-Hunker sessions to support grant development writing. This compliments the Office of Faculty Affairs-sponsored Writing Hunkers that take place four times per year. Learn more.
