SPH Grant Toolkit

Welcome to the Office of Research SPH Grant Toolkit—a comprehensive resource designed to support faculty, staff, and student researchers throughout the grant application process.

This toolkit provides essential information and guidelines on key topics such as Data Management Plans, Data Use Agreements, and the University of Minnesota DRUM Data Repository. It also offers guidance for Early Stage Investigators and resources on Facilities and Equipment, Intellectual Property Management Plans, Multiple PI Leadership Plans, and faculty grant examples. Additionally, the toolkit provides examples of Plans for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives in research.

By centralizing these critical resources, the Grant Toolkit streamlines the grant preparation process and helps ensure that proposals meet both institutional and funding agency requirements.

The toolkit is organized by funding agency. To view details on a specific funding mechanism, click the corresponding link below.

If you have any questions, updates, or revisions regarding the toolkit content, please contact the SPH Office of Research at sph-res@umn.edu.

Grant Repository

Submit Grant Materials

SPH faculty are encouraged to submit their grant proposals or key components (e.g., aims page) to the Grant Repository, which is part of the SPH Grant Toolkit. The toolkit will include a new feature that allows the addition of complete or partial grant proposals from SPH faculty. Funded proposals will be used as examples and resources to support other faculty across the SPH.

Access the Grant Repository

Faculty and staff investigators seeking access to Grant Repository from School of Public Health colleagues should complete this form. Once the request has been reviewed, instructions on how to access the repository will be provided.
